The Makena Golf Course is one of Maui’s only sea-to-mountain 18-hole golf courses in all natural surroundings and one of the last courses on Maui to remain in its original, natural state, offering panoramic views of native kiawe forest and indigenous trees, ancient Hawaiian rock walls, natural streams and gullies, and abundant wildlife.
The course is a natural test of golf - winding up, down, over and around the verdant foothills of Maui's 10,028-foot-high dormant volcano, Mt. Haleakala, and offering sweeping panoramic views of the blue Pacific Ocean.
The Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed Makena Golf Course has been restored to tournament-quality condition, and was ranked in the Top 10 Hawaiian Golf Courses by Golf Digest. Returning the award winning Maui Golf Course back to top shape has been the priority of the Makena landscaping crews, resulting in well manicured and luxurious golf greens.
